Wedding Shoes
When selecting your Wedding Shoes, it is better to prioritise comfort over fashion. You will be on your feet nearly all day, so pick out your Wedding Shoes with this in mind. Choose a medium to low heel which will be comfortable allowing you to dance the night away, but also providing you with a much better posture than flat shoes.
Most wedding shoes are satin or silk, but there are a few styles availabel in leather. Wedding Shoes are available in both ivory and white, although there is considerably less choice if you are looking for white bridal shoes. Some companies do provide a bleaching service which can create a white shoe from an ivory one if you are really struggling, however this is only possible with satin shoes.
Wedding Shoes in silk or satin can be dyed to achieve that perfect color match, but remember you can only dye to a darker shade, you can't dye ivory shoes white, see above! If you have your bridal shoes dyed, it is advisable to also have then treated to prevent the dye running if the shoes get wet, but remember once you have treated your dyed shoes they cannot be re-dyed.
There are now some wedding shoeso available in wider fit, either an E or EEE width fitting. If you like a wider fit style but do not have wide feet you may still able to have that style, just try a size smaller than you usually wear. Similarly, if you do have wide feet you can often have a sytle that is not wide fit by going up a size. Our consultants are very used to getting a good fit in store and can give advice over the phone or by e-mail, although we cannot guarantee a fit as feet differ so widely in shape.
If your wedding gown has a lace or organza overlay make sure the detailing on your shoes will not catch and pull your gown.
If you perfect wedding shoes are a little more expensive than your budget consider dyeing them after the wedding to get more wear out of them which makes them better value for money.
Lastly, remember to break in your Wedding Shoes before the wedding day, you want to be able to wear your wedding shoes all day as your wedding dress will have been shortened to your wedding shoes' heel height.
